As the requirement for additional space became necessary in order to accommodate the Sunday School,
The Guild, The Kirk Session - not to mention teas and coffees after the morning service ! - the
Parish Church embarked on a building programme to demolish the old 19th century
tin-roofed vestry and to construct accommodation that would include a Vestry/entrance hall,
Meeting Room, with small kitchenette and toilet facilities, suitable for use for the disabled and wheel-chair
users. Externally, an outside ramp was provided due to the substantial difference between ground and floor
levels. In recognition of the tremendous amount of work, effort and devotion that
Hamish MacDonald had put into the church over so many years, the Kirk Session unanimously
agreed that our Meeting Room extension should be known as :-
The MacDonald Room

The MacDonald Room was built between 1993
and 1994 and officially opened after the Sunday
Service. The following pictures show the building
works and the opening.
